Rev. Billie Wayne Henry, Sr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and respected minister, passed away on December 1, 2023, at the MS Care Center in Corinth. Born on October 28, 1942, to Newton and Eunice Berryhill Henry, he leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and service.
Survived by his beloved wife Hazel Bishop Henry, daughter Kathi Henry, sons Stephen Henry and Billy Wayne Henry, Jr., sisters Ruth Engelman, Velma Lammert, Thelma Blaine, and brothers Marvin Henry, Rev. Henry is also remembered by his five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Rev. Billie Wayne Henry was a man of many passions. A dedicated minister, he served the community as a proud member of the New Freedom Full Gospel Church. Beyond his spiritual calling, he was a skilled mechanic with a deep love for vintage automobiles.
His life was marked by service to his country, having served in the Army. During his military service, he exhibited extraordinary courage and dedication, earning both the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for his valor.
Preceding him in death were his parents, daughter Michelle Renee Henry, brothers Harry, Robert, James, and William, and sisters Mary, Lillian, Martha, Sally, Sue, and Ellen. Although he is now reunited with those who went before him, the impact of his life will forever be felt by those who knew and loved him.
Visitation for Rev. Billie Wayne Henry will be held on December 5, 2023, from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Associated Family Funeral Home, located at 109 Rankin Extended in Tupelo, MS. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the same location. Associated Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the Henry family during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the family. May he rest in eternal peace, and may his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.
