Linda Smith, 51, of Mooreville, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, August 7, 2023. She was born on July 26, 1972, in Florida to Arlene Hodges and was later welcomed into the loving arms of her parents, Donald and Patricia Fowler.
Linda's journey through life was one marked by love, resilience, and a deep devotion to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and cherished memories. Linda is survived by her loving husband, Jeff, whose unwavering support and companionship brightened her days. Their bond was a testament to the enduring power of love.
Linda's heart was most profoundly touched by her children, each a unique source of joy and pride. She is survived by her sons, Devin Carl Smith and Leif Allen Smith, her step-son Lane Smith, and her daughters, Shai Marie Hemingway, Nur Almusawi, and Amira Almusawi. Linda's nurturing spirit and guidance will forever shape the lives of her beloved children, and her memory will continue to inspire them.
Among Linda's many treasures were her cherished siblings, who formed a tight-knit tapestry of love and support. She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Jean Bozarth (Buddy), Tina Grable, Amy Bingham (Steven), Jamie Thompson, and Laurie Kirk, as well as her brothers, Robert Hodges, Jr. (Toni), and Gary Yontis. Their shared experiences and enduring connections were a source of comfort and strength throughout Linda's life.
Linda's journey was graced by the presence of her grandson, Weslee Blake Smith, a reminder of the beauty and wonder that life bestows upon us.
Linda was preceded in death by her step-son, Jeffery Lane Smith, whose memory she carried in her heart, and her sister, Kathy McClain, with whom she shared a special bond.
Beyond her roles as a wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, Linda found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her love for reading, dancing, and indulging in mystery TV shows brought a sparkle to her eyes. She would often be found engrossed in a captivating book or dancing to the rhythm of her favorite tunes. Her fondness for word searches was a reflection of her inquisitive nature and determination.
To honor Linda's life, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. The service will take place at the Associated Family Funeral Home & Cremation Center Chapel of Memories in Tupelo. Friends and family are invited to gather together to remember, celebrate, and pay tribute to a woman whose life was a beacon of love, kindness, and cherished memories.
