Laura Lee McNutt, 59, of Pontotoc, Mississippi, passed away on June 14, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice in Tupelo.
Born on January 25, 1967, in Mississippi, Laura was the daughter of William "Larry" McNutt and Sandra Brown McNutt. She last worked at the BancorpSouth call center.
Laura was a woman who loved deeply, laughed loudly, and lived life unapologetically. She found joy in spending time with her family and treasured every moment she shared with those she loved. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she delighted in watching them grow.
She is survived by her mother, Sandra Brown McNutt; her daughters, Maggie Pannell (Georgia) of Saltillo and Staycie Hale of Belden; her son, William Pannell (Kaylee) of Pontotoc; her sister, Dallas Blankenship (Chad) of Mooreville; her brother, Bill McNutt (Beth) of Tupelo; and her beloved grandchildren, Jayda Hale, Jace Hale, Jaylee Hale, Hensley Pannell, and Avery Austin.
She was preceded in death by her father, William "Larry" McNutt.
Laura had a creative soul and enjoyed painting, pottery, diamond art, and all kinds of arts and crafts. She especially loved bringing beauty and color into the world through her creations. She also adored her faithful companion, Jughead Jones, whom she loved as one of her own children.
Those who knew Laura will remember her larger-than-life personality. She was outspoken, spirited, silly, and funny, with a knack for making people laugh and keeping everyone on their toes. She never met a stranger and could brighten a room with her humor, honesty, and unmistakable presence. While her family and friends will miss her deeply, they will forever cherish the countless memories, laughter, and love she leaves behind.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
