Obituary

Larry Oliver Fowlkes, Sr., 72, of Baldwyn passed away Monday, April 3, 2023 at North Mississippi Medical Center.  Mr. Fowlkes was born in Houston, Texas to Eddie Fowlkes, Sr. and Jeannette Goodie on August 10, 1950.  He was a truck driver for KC logistics. He also was a deacon and choir member at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Verona.  He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed canoeing and traveling. He loved lifting weights and driving trucks.  He is survived by his wife, Beverly Collier Fowlkes, his daughter Stephanie Marie Elzie Amos (Paul) of Lake Charles, Louisiana, his sons George Larry Elzie (Shalonda) of Nashville, Tennessee, Jonathan Nathaniel Elzie of San Diego, California, Jonathan Vital of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Larry Oliver Fowlkes, Jr. and Carey Anthony Fowlkes both of Monroe, Louisiana.  Mr. Fowlkes is also survived by his sister, Florence Fowlkes of Lake Charles, Louisiana and numerous grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Robert Earl Richards and Eddie Fowlkes, Jr.  Services will be Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Associated Family Funeral Home Chapel of Memories at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 9:30 the same day until service time.  Associated Family Funeral Home in Tupelo is honored to have been chosen to serve the Fowlkes family in their time of need.
