Kenneth Edward Pruitt, Sr., affectionately known to many as “Kenny Mac,” passed away on February 15, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was 69 years old.
Kenny was born on July 19, 1956, to Fletcher Edward Pruitt and JoAnn Hankins Golden. From an early age, it was clear that music was woven into the fabric of his life. A gifted musician, Kenny found joy behind his instrument and on the stage, sharing his love of music with anyone who would listen. He played in various bands throughout the years and even led one of his own. Whether performing for a crowd or simply playing for family and friends, music was his passion and his lifelong companion.
He will be remembered for his talent, his love of entertaining, and the way music seemed to flow naturally through him. For those who knew him best, the sound of a song will always carry a piece of Kenny’s spirit.
Kenny is survived by his son, Kenneth Pruitt, Jr. (Kep); his daughters, Rachel Cobb (Bryant Baldwyn) and Courtney Center (Les); and his cherished grandchildren, Braylie Neeley, Colton Goodlett, Jaxon Clark, and Weston Center. He is also survived by his only sister, Sherrie Litton; his niece, Chasity Chere’ Litton (Jon Campbell); his nephew, Jessie Litton (Jennifer); his partner, Joann Cook of Double Springs, Alabama; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.
