Karl Cox Sr., 55, of Pontotoc, Mississippi, passed away on March 25, 2026, in Pontotoc, Mississippi. He was born on January 19, 1971, in Marks, Mississippi.
Karl was a good man with a servant’s heart and a deep love for his family, his community, and the Lord. He was the kind of person who never thought twice about helping someone in need, and he spent much of his life doing just that as a lifelong volunteer firefighter. Serving others was not just something Karl did — it was part of who he was. He found joy and purpose in being there for people when they needed him most.
Karl was a loving husband, father, proud grandfather, devoted brother, and a cherished uncle. He loved his family deeply, and that love was seen in the way he cared, provided, and showed up for the people he held close. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that his family will treasure forever.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paula and Charles Cox.
Karl leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Christy Cox; his children, Christina Stafford and her husband Justin Stafford, and Karl Cox Jr.; his precious grandchild, Swayze Layne Stafford; his brother, Michael Cox; his sisters, Mary Bell and her husband Talon Bell, Angela King and her husband Greg King, and Cheryl Cox Briceno; his nieces, Maddie Bell, Kayleigh Bryant, Madison Bryant, and Emily Hester; and his nephews, Bryson Briceno and Carson Briceno.
Karl will be remembered for his kind heart, his willingness to serve, and the quiet strength he carried through life. While his family grieves his passing here on earth, they find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace and resting in the arms of Jesus.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23
Karl’s life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and he will be loved and missed until the day his family sees him again.
Services celebrating his life will be held on April 11, 2026 at 1pm at Fairview Church 2720 MS HWY 341 Pontotoc, MS 38863
