Junior McCaine Obituary

Junior McCaine, 78, of Ecru, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, February 14, 2025. Born on February 28, 1947, in Mississippi to the late Erving and Lottie McCaine, Junior lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and love for his family.

A proud veteran, Junior enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1965 and honorably served until 1968. During his service in the Vietnam War, he worked in fire and rescue, bravely assisting others in times of need. After his military service, he became a self-made business owner and a hardworking plumber by trade.

Junior had a deep love for animals, especially his horses, peacocks, quail, and chickens. He found joy in fishing, showing horses, boating, and spending time on the water. Above all, he cherished the moments spent with his family.

He is survived by his son, Larry McCaine (Shena) of Ecru; his daughters, Melissa McCaine (Derek) of Ecru and Taylor Hughes (Johnny) of Ecru; his brother, Carl McCaine (Clemi) of San Antonio, TX; seven grandchildren, Alexzandrea McCaine, Victoria Parker, Eli McCaine, Annaleigh McCaine, Alexis Parchman, Jeffrey Parchman, and Paisley Crews; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his son, Lou McCaine; his daughter, Theresa McCaine; and his siblings, Geraldine McCaine, Tommy McCaine, James McCaine, Billy McCaine, and Mildred Swann.

Services to honor Junior’s life will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Sand Spring Community Church in Thaxton, MS, with Rev. William Dillion officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. and continue until the time of service.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Russell, Denton Russell, Tony Hurst, Alexis Parchman, Jeff Parchman, and Jody Kidd.
