Joyce (Farley) Scott

Joyce Farley Scott, Pontotoc, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away on August 20, 2023, at the age of 71. She was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to John Albert Farley and Flora Tingles Farley, and her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends.

Joyce is survived by her loving husband, Sam Scott, who stood by her side through thick and thin. She leaves behind a daughter, Lara Scott, and a son, Bradley Scott, both of whom she adored deeply. Joyce's nurturing spirit extended to her sisters, Pauline Tharp and Joe Ann Davidson, as well as her brother, James Farley. Her legacy continues through her five adoring grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Additionally, Joyce leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, John Albert Farley and Flora Tingles Farley Sikes, and her sister, Bernice Farley. Though they are no longer with us, their memories remain in the hearts of those who loved them.

One of Joyce's greatest joys in life was spending time with her beloved dogs, a testament to her warm and caring nature. Her compassion extended beyond her family to all living creatures, and her kindness was felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of Joyce's life will be held on September 1, 2023, at 6:00 P.M. at the Houlka Community Center. Friends and family are invited to join in remembrance and celebration of the wonderful person she was.

Joyce Farley Scott will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she leaves behind. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the eternal love of her family and the memory of her gentle spirit
