John "Keith" Horton, 60, of Amory, entered his heavenly home on February 26, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice. Born on October 27, 1964, in Alabama to John Kenneth Horton and Peggy Ann Sullivan Horton, Keith lived a life filled with faith, love, and dedication to his family and passions.
Keith built a career in the transportation industry, serving as a manager with JB Hunt. A devoted husband, he shared his life with his loving wife, Donna Seymour Horton. He was a proud and caring father to his sons, Josh Finney of Nettleton, John Dillon Horton (Brittany) of Rockford, IL, and Justin Harris of Mooreville. His greatest joy in life was his four beloved grandchildren: Colin Taylor, Ashton Finney, Mason Finney, and Case Harris. He also leaves behind his sister, Malissa Kay Horton of Orange Beach, AL, and his brother, Kiplen Alfred Horton of Gardendale, AL.
A man of deep faith, Keith was an active member of Word of Life Church in Tupelo. He was also a dedicated board member of the Nettleton Fox Hunting and Fish Association. An avid outdoorsman, he found happiness in hunting, raising and training championship coon dogs, fishing, and cooking. He had a passion for bringing people together, especially through church gatherings, and took great joy in mentoring young people in hunting and outdoor activities. He loved traveling and spending time on the river with his children and grandchildren.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Word of Life Church in Tupelo, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 P.M., officiated by Pastor Tommy Galloway.
