Brooksville, MS Mr Jesse James Johnson, age 70 passed at the Sanctuary Hospice House Friday, April 15, 2022. Jesse was born in Brooksville, MS on Feb 25, 1952 to Theodis Johnson and Cora Harris of Brooksville. He was a retired Self employed woodworker and was affiliated with Mt Carmel MB Church in Macon. He was an avid fisherman, and loved to farm and garden. Jesse loved spending time with his family, friends, and brothers making them the center of his earthly life. Quite frequently he could be found "UNDER THE TREE" at various times and places visiting with his brothers and living life to its fullest. Now Jesse James was very opinionated but yet his guidance was always accepted by those he loved. He never put up with foolishness that hurt others. He'd scatter a little group that were having a loud disagreement very quickly. He leaves his wonderful wife Agnes Brooks Johnson of Brooksville, 3 Daughters, Angela Cole "Derrick" of Louisville, Tiana Patton and Taaliyah Patton both of Brooksville, 2 Sons, Michael Johnson "Sandra" and Treyvon Patton both of Brooksville . He also leaves 4 Sisters, Barbara Malone "James", Ann Brooks "Samuel", Rosie Sims "Ora" all of Brooksville and Emma Petty "Kevin" of Tupelo. He also leaves 5 brothers Mac Arthur Chandler "Sarah", Isiah Doss "Ruby", Jessie Doss all of Brooksville, Charlie Doss, and Jimmy Doss of Tupelo. 7 Grandchildren, Kenterrius Turner, Dorian Cole, Mikijah Johnson, Michael Johnson Jr, Eboni Johnson, Kyla Cole, Xa'vier Johnson, and 2 great grandchildren, Mc'Kenzie Patterson, and Royalty Cole. He is preceded by his parents and a brother, Tommy Chandler. Visitation with viewing will be at ASSOCIATED FAMILY FUNERAL HOME - TUPELO Saturday, April 23rd from 11am to 1pm. Our family is very grateful that the Johnson family chose us to be of service to their family.
