Janice “Jan” Weeks Phillips was born in Shannon, MS on September 13, 1949 to Oscar and Pauline Weeks. Her Heavenly Father graciously called her home on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends for the last several days of her life here on God’s earth.
The DASH between these two dates was filled with a multitude of beautiful and loving memories with her family and friends. She was a beloved Wife, Mother, Nana and Great Nana and enjoyed nothing more than being with and spending time with her family. She was strong in her Christian beliefs and was a lifetime Baptist. She served her community as a real estate agent for most of her working career and made several lifelong friends with co-workers, clients and closing attorneys in the Tupelo area. She also enjoyed traveling across the country to soccer games, watching her kids and grandkids compete in soccer and baseball, reading, shopping and watching Ole Miss baseball.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Weeks, and her father, Oscar Weeks.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, B.L. Phillips and a sister Bobbie (Jerry) Dulaney. She was also survived by her three children and their families: Son, Bryan (Martha) Phillips and their children, Abby (Rip) Kirk and their child Beau Kirk, and John Michael Phillips; Son, Kirk (Christy) Phillips and their children, Bailey Phillips and Reece Phillips; and her daughter, Mandy Phillips and her children, Caleb Klauser and Jena Klauser. She was further survived by a special Aunt, Francis Warren, along with several special nieces and nephews.
