Gregory Allen Boatner, 72, of Pontotoc, MS, passed away on June 7, 2024, at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo, MS. Gregory was born in Mississippi on December 3, 1951, to Elbert and Marie Wood Boatner.
Gregory served his country honorably as a member of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. His dedication and service were a testament to his enduring love for his country.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Holly Martin Boatner; his cherished daughter, Kaylee Marie Boatner (William) of Pontotoc; and his adored grandchildren, Avery Austin and Hensley Wisniewski, both of Pontotoc. He also leaves behind his sister, Faithe Howell of Carthage, MS. Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Marie Wood Boatner, and his grandparents, H.L. and Birdie Boatner.
Gregory was a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the American Legion. In his free time, he found joy in riding his Harley motorcycle, fishing, and engaging in his passion for firearms. He was also known for keeping his yard in immaculate condition. Above all, he treasured his daughter and granddaughter, who were the apples of his eye.
A private memorial will be held at a later date to honor Gregory's life. Associated Family Funeral Home of Tupelo is honored to serve the Boatner family during this time of need.
Gregory Allen Boatner will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his love of the outdoors, and his unwavering patriotism. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
