With deep love and heavy hearts, the family of Eddie Neal Swords, 68, announces his passing on November 22, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice. Born on October 22, 1957, in Pontotoc, Eddie was the beloved son of James “Hub” and Shirley Wood Swords.
Eddie lived a life rooted in simplicity, gratitude, and the outdoors he cherished. He found peace in early mornings on the water with a fishing pole in hand, quiet days spent hunting or simply sitting outside feeding the squirrels that came to know him. His loyal dog, Lucky, was his constant companion, and together they shared countless steps, quiet moments, and unconditional love.
Eddie's greatest pride and joy came from watching his daughter, Kayla, build a life and family of her own. Becoming a grandfather brought him immeasurable happiness, and Wesson Hill and Kaden Weatherly were the lights of his life. His presence—easygoing, caring, and genuine—will be missed in every story told and every memory shared.
Eddie leaves behind his daughter, Kayla Weatherly (Kaleb); his sisters, Anita McMillen (Stanley), Daralene Johnson (Larry), and Cheryl Killough (Mike); his brother, Ferrel Swords; and his two grandsons, Wesson Hill and Kaden Weatherly, who will forever carry his spirit forward. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., with the funeral service beginning at 6:00 P.M., all at Associated Family Funeral Home in Tupelo, Mississippi.
The Swords family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, kindness, and support shown during this time. Associated Family Funeral Home is honored to serve them as they celebrate Eddie’s life and legacy.
May his memory be a blessing to all who loved him.
