Dorothy Geunita (Russell) Alley

BELMONT:  Dorothy Geunita Russell Alley age 81, passed away Tues April 27, 2021 at the North MS Medical Center in Tupelo.  Dot was born in Colburn Co, AL on Jan 20, 1940 to Albert and Vergie Smeltzer Russell.  She was a faithful member of The Church of Christ. Dorothy loved canning vegtables from her garden each summer, and enjoyed mailing friends and family cards, scrapbooking, crocheting, reading, and working her family's genealogy. Dot also loved selling Home Interior, a distributor for quality home decor. Services are scheduled for Sat May 1, 2021 at 11am from the Liberty Church of Christ Hwy 25 North of Belmont, with Minister David Conley officiating.  She leaves her husband of 10yrs Robert Floyd Alley of Belmont, 3 daughters, Geunita Ringold of Chattanooga, TN, Yolette Hensley of Millington, TN, and Siri Hallock (Raymond) of Ashville, NC.  She also leaves a Sister DeEtta Lentz of Birmingham, Al and 1 Brother Truman Russell  (Joyce) of Red Bay, AL.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Walter E. Wells, Jr, 2 husbands Walter E. Wells Sr, and James Lane.  Our family at Associated are truly very honored to have been chosen to serve the Alley family..   ** There will be a celebration of Dot Russell Alley's life this coming Sat May 8th at Arlington Church Building located at 2206 Tecom Dr in Knoxville, Tn 37917. The family will receive friends from 4pm and service will be at 5pm.  Her ashes will be interred on June 11th at 12pm in Greenwood Cemetery in Knoxville. Expressions of sympathy may be left by clicking on the Tributes link on the home page of this website.  Prayers and blessings to all of this truly wonderful family.
