Don Earl Gillis

Don Earl Gillis, 77, of Oxford, MS, passed away at his home on February 22, 2025. He was born on May 4, 1947, in Lafayette County, MS, to the late Marion Gillis and Marie Wood Gillis.

Don dedicated his career to life on the road as a truck driver, working tirelessly to provide for his family. He was known for his strong work ethic, quiet strength, and deep love for those closest to him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Gillis; his sons, David Gillis and Brian Gillis; his sister, Patricia Hamilton (Jim); four cherished grandchildren and his friend and the mother of his children, Loretta Hankins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter, Ashley Gillis.
