Daniel Clifton Spicer, 84, of Mooreville, passed away on May 20, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Daniel was born on September 15, 1940, in Tennessee to the late Dorsey and Gussie Joyner Spicer. A proud veteran, he served his country in the United States Army. He was most recently employed with Tupelo Fiber, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication.
Daniel was a Baptist by faith and a man who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was an avid NASCAR fan, loved being outdoors, and spent countless hours gardening and woodworking before his health declined. He enjoyed cruising around on his golf cart, a favorite pastime that brought him peace and connection to the world around him.
He was known for his humorous personality and loved to sing, often bringing laughter and music to those around him. He had a soft spot for animals, especially his beloved dogs—Little Man, who preceded him in death, and Toby, who remained by his side.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Francis Lewis; daughters Carol Scott (Michael), Barbara Kay Long (Joey), and Sheila Watkins; his son Dorsey Spicer (Donna); his sister Joyce Marbry; his brother Terry Spicer; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, James Clifton Spicer; daughters Connie Laine McCoy and Cynthia Denise Carlson; his sister, Dorothy Butler; and his brother, Eugene Spicer.
No services are planned at this time.
