Cora Arlene Garrett Chapman, 62, of Tupelo, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center hospice. Born on March 11, 1962, in Florida, Cora was the beloved daughter of Cleabourne and Betty Setzer Garrett, who preceded her in death.
Cora found immense joy and fulfillment in her career as a truck driver, embracing the freedom and adventure of the open road. Her spirited and feisty nature earned her a reputation as a wild child, and she brought that same passion to every aspect of her life.
Deeply generous and caring, Cora had a heart for giving to others, particularly children, and she was known for her nurturing spirit. Her love for others was evident in her everyday actions, always putting others before herself.
She is survived by her daughters, Jessica Chapman and Cheryl Whitt, her sister Carol Skaling, her brothers Clayton Garrett and Carl Garrett and 3 cherished grandchildren.
Cora's faith was an important part of her life, and she was a proud member of the Baptist church. Her vibrant personality, loving heart, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Associated Family Funeral Home in Tupelo, MS.
