Cleo Mildred Brooks, age 71, of Saltillo, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 27, 2025. She was born on December 12, 1953, in Cleveland, Mississippi, to the late James Brooks and Louisa Fort.
Cleo was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend whose warmth and generosity touched everyone she met. She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life—especially tending to her flower garden, where she nurtured beauty with a gentle hand, and cooking meals that brought her family together. Her spirit of care and creativity was reflected in all she did.
She is survived by her devoted son, Theo Brooks; her sisters Johnnie Mims, Clareatha Perkins, Gertrude Brooks, and Jeanette Jones; her brother Melvin Brooks; and her cherished grandchildren, who brought light into her life.
Cleo was preceded in death by her beloved sons Darrin Brooks and Charles Brooks; her sister Doreatha Edward; her brothers James Brooks, Arthur Brooks, and Willie C. Mims; as well as her parents.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, beginning at 11:00 A.M. until service time at Associated Family Funeral Home in Tupelo. A funeral service in her honor will follow at 12:00 P.M. the same day.
Associated Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the Brooks family during this time of loss.
Cleo will be deeply missed, but her love, strength, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
